Welcome to the Hillview Idea Gardens

     Established in 1986, the Hillview Idea Gardens has been the site of weddings, radio broadcasts and tours.  The Gardens function as an idea center for homeowners, training for Wilson's employees and test grounds for new varieties.  With meandering concrete paths, the Gardens are handicap and stroller accessible.  Included among the many theme gardens are favorites such as the Hummingbird and Butterfly Garden, Herb Garden, Cutting Garden, the Rock Garden.  Several water features give customers examples of what they can do in their own yards.  The New Variety Bed gives gardeners a sneak peak at plants that are being tested to see how they do in the Central Ohio climate.  An official All-America Garden showcases the past and present winners of this prestigious award.

     Open during business hours, the Gardens make the trip to Wilson's special for customers.  Located in beds throughout the 1.5 acres of gardens, visitors find hundreds of labeled annuals, perennials, grasses and more in stunning displays.  Many of the items that are planted in the Gardens are available for purchase throughout the other areas of the store.  Although the Gardens beautiful year round, peak time for the Gardens in mid-June through October.  There is something different to see each week.  The folks at Wilson's encourage visitors to take pictures of their favorite plants and ideas.  Wilson's generally has a Garden Open House the last weekend in July or the first weekend in August to celebrate the peak beauty of the gardens!  Times and events change every year, so be sure to watch for advertisements highlighting special occasions here at Wilson's.
